News Corp has been quoted as saying it’s “very early” in the development of a sequel to the blockbuster film “Star Wars” sequel, but there’s no word yet on whether it’ll be made by Walt Disney or Paramount.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Disney’s Lucasfilm and Paramount Pictures were both interested in developing the “Star War” sequel in the wake of the first “Star Trek” film’s release in November 2019.
The report quoted an unnamed executive who said the “Havok” reboot is being made under the supervision of former Pixar executive John Lasseter and has been made by Lassett’s new studio, Inside Out.
News Corp reported on Tuesday that Disney and Sony Pictures have also been interested in making a sequel of the popular film franchise.
Disney’s “Star Captain America: Civil War” will open in the US on December 6, 2018, following a month-long worldwide release on December 5.
