LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will face off in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night at AT &T Center against the Golden State Warriors.
LeBron James is on the floor during the second quarter of the Warriors’ 102-91 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 1 of the 2017 NBA Finals.
James is seen during the fourth quarter of Game 1 between the Cavaliers and Golden State on Wednesday, May 19, 2018, in Cleveland.
The Cavs have won the first two meetings between these teams, and the Cavs have advanced to the NBA finals for the first time in franchise history.
Golden State has not lost a Game 3 since April 11, 2021, when James was on the sidelines.
James led Cleveland with 35 points on 12-of-17 shooting and nine assists on 10-of, 10-for-14 shooting.
James scored 24 points in the first quarter on 10 of 16 shooting, and he finished with 21 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench in the third quarter.
James and the Cavaliers are expected to be without two of their starting point guards, Zaza Pachulia and Tristan Thompson, both for the game.
Cavs forward David Lee has missed four games with a strained left hamstring, and it appears Thompson could miss as well.
James was able to return after missing five games because of a back injury.
The Cavs also are without forward J.R. Smith and forward Markel Brown, who have missed four of their last six games with back and hamstring injuries.
